"A campaign aide says Hillary Rodham Clinton lent herself $6.4 million in the past month...The loan more than doubles Clinton's personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year."
A few things to point out here:
- Tax returns show the Clintons are worth about 100 million bucks.
- They have a few houses with mortgages to pay and living expenses to maintain.
- This new loans means HRC has spent basically 11% of their net-worth on the campaign.
This loan is basically like someone doubling down in Blackjack, but instead of risking a small sum, it's like risking a downpayment on a house or a sizeable portion of your fortune! This loan basically tells me that HRC is in it until the bitter end since "money talks" so-to-speak.
No way she's getting out now.
No way she'll drop out before the convention.
She's put too much of money on the line now...
Two Possibilities to Consider

I think Senator Clinton feels she can get both Florida and Michigan some how seated in Denver, thus increasing perhaps her overall delegate count enough to be both heard and considered a rejuvenated – creditable, candidate for the Presidency.
Also, another possibility, since Edwards or Gore hasn’t endorsed either her or Senator Obama; she’s in hopes of winning either or both of their endorsements and forming a ticket where she would be the Presidential candidate and Edwards her VP choice or Gore as the Presidential candidate and she would be his running mate as Vice President.
I’m an Obama supporter, but both Gore and Edwards are scary unknown factors in this race.
The "Gore Possibility" is

The "Gore Possibility" is absurd. If the DNC were to ignore entirely the nearly 18 million votes that will be cast in the Democrat primary and give the nomination to Gore they will be fractured forever. It's a ridiculously silly senario.

It is a ridiculously silly scenario but then again the Democratic Party has done some pretty ridiculous things, I.E. Howard Dean as Chariman of the DNC.
